Mitsubishi Motors Achieves 27% Sales Growth For Financial Year 2022

Kuala Lumpur, 17 April 2023 – MITSUBISHI MOTORS MALAYSIA (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia continued its sales trend on an upward trajectory after closing Financial Year 2022 (April 2022 – March 2023) with 27% more vehicles sold compared to the same time last financial year.

The company sold 24,315 units with a market share of 3.2%, allowing it to retain its top three spots in the non-national automotive sales table. This is also MMM’s historical high sales achievement since its inception in 2005.

The Mitsubishi XPANDER remains Malaysia’s most popular non-national MPV with a sales growth of 52.2% compared to Financial Year 2021 (April 2021 – March 2022). MMM sold 13,794 units of XPANDER which contributed 57% to the company’s overall total sales.

The Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck is also a remarkable one with a sales growth of 12% compared to the financial year before. MMM sold 10,520 units of Triton and maintained a solid market share of 18%. The Triton is also strong number two in the pick-up truck segment.

For the upcoming Asia Cross Country Rally 2023, Team Mitsubishi Ralliart plans to compete with a prototype cross-country model of the all-new Triton in its quest for a second straight victory. Our participation in rallies will be reflected not only in new Triton models but also across a broad range of Mitsubishi vehicles. We are optimistic about the future of the Mitsubishi Motors brand and its presence in Malaysia.”
