The vehicles were championed by<strong> 16 media members from Peninsular and East Malaysia<\/strong>. It's the <strong>only pick-up* truck boasting a 200,000 km or 5 years warranty<\/strong> for ultimate peace of mind (*Up to 2.4L category).<\/p><p>The enhanced Mitsubishi Triton gets a big boost in safety and now scores the maximum rating of <strong>five stars in the ASEAN NCAP crash test <\/strong>(NCAP Five-Star: Applicable for Adventure variants only) with the availability of <strong>7 SRS airbags <\/strong>(Applicable for Adventure variants only), consisting of front, side and curtain airbags, plus a driver's knee airbag. This full suite of airbags helps to cushion all occupants in the event of a collision.<\/p><p>Also new to the enhanced Triton is the <strong>Active Stability &amp; Traction Control (ASTC) system <\/strong>(Applicable for VGT variants only), a safety net that assists in keeping the vehicle in control during over-steer and under-steer situations or slippery and rugged conditions, by maintaining traction.<\/p><p>The Triton, which is renowned for its car-like driving qualities and comfort, also receives new features for 2017 that gives it a more <strong>rugged and bolder image<\/strong>. Coupled with<strong> Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), <\/strong>it produces a strong <strong>181 PS of power and 430 Nm of torque<\/strong>, and boasts <strong>15% better fuel efficiency<\/strong> compared to the previous 2.5-litre engine.<\/p><p>This is achieved through MIVEC\u201a\u00c4\u00f4s finer control of the engine valves for improved performance, while <strong>lightweight aluminum alloy blocks<\/strong> keeps weight to a minimum. This modern powerhouse also uses a timing chain for lower maintenance costs and a longer service lifespan. It also boasts minimum levels of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) for a comfortable drive and further enhancing the Triton's car-like refinement.<\/p><p><strong>Powertrain <\/strong>options include a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, and a <strong>new<\/strong> 6-speed manual transmission <strong>for the VGT MT<\/strong>.
